چکیده
A new automatic potentiometric reaction-rate method has been applied to the specific enzymatic measurement of glucose in blood plasma or serum. A new filtering technic is described for removal of precipitated protein. The use of injection pipets to simplify and speed up the reagentand sample-handling step is described. Glucose is determined in 0.02 ml. of serum or plasma with relative errors within 2%. The average measurement time is about 30 sec.

Rate of Glucose Utilization by Blood Cells in Serum and Plasma Specimens With or Without Using Preservative
Objective: This study aims to estimate and compare the time-course change in blood glucose levels by blood cells in serum, and plasma with or without preservatives, which may reflect the rate of glucose utilization by blood cells. Method: This laboratory-based cross-sectional study was carried out using a blood specimen of 28 participants among which 14 were diagnosed with diabetes and 14 were...
متن کاملA New Potentiometric Sensor for Determination and Screening Phenylalanine in Blood Serum Based on Molecularly Imprinted Polymer
Methods routinely utilized for detection of phenylalanine in new-born blood consist of enzymatic assays, lacking sensitivity and HPLC assays which are expensive and time-consuming to conduct. We, here, report for the first time, the construction of a phenylalanine sensitive electrode, on the basis of a selective molecularly imprinted polymer, offering sensitivity, economy and ease of use for th...

متن کاملAn Effective Method for Detecting Y-chromosome Specific Sequences of Circulating Fetal DNA in Maternal Plasma During the First-trimester
Background and Aims: New advances in the use of cell-free fetal DNA (cffDNA) in maternal plasma of pregnant women has provided the possibility of applying cffDNA in prenatal diagnosis as a non-invasive method. One of the applications of prenatal diagnosis is fetal gender determination. Early prenatal determination of fetal sex is required for pregnant women at risk of X-linked and some endocrin...
متن کاملMulticommuted flow system for the determination of glucose in animal blood serum exploiting enzymatic reaction and chemiluminescence detection
An automatic flow procedure based on multicommutation dedicated for the determination of glucose in animal blood serum using glucose oxidase with chemiluminescence detection is described. The flow manifold consisted of a set of three-way solenoid valves assembled to implement multicommutation. A microcomputer furnished with an electronic interface and software written in Quick BASIC 4.5 control...
